OVERVIEW

‘Mid Tide’ walks are for those wanting to guide themselves on the Yuraygir Coast Walk at a time that suits, with a DIY accommodation base and food. Camp, or book a base in central Yuraygir (Minnie Water or Wooli) throughout the walk and we provide basic logistics support. As well as being very economical, this allows flexibility in terms of optional lay days, simplified vehicle management and security.

INCLUSIONS

• Welcome session on the evening before the walk, or at a breakfast session with one of our guides, with an overview of ecological, cultural awareness requirements and key insights into the nature of the walk
• 4 days self-guided walking (or choose to add a guide for a day or two)
• daily briefing as needed about the day’s walk ahead with information/contacts for self-arranged river crossings
• all vehicle transfers between the track and your accommodation
• daily track notes, maps and a complimentary copy of NPWS Yuraygir Coastal Walk fold out maps
• emergency point of contact.

ACCOMMODATION

Customers are responsible for booking their accommodation. There can be limited availability and elevated costs during School or other holiday periods.

IMPORTANT TO NOTE:

• Group size/minimum numbers – These walks operate with a minimum group size of 2 to a maximum of 12. Discounted prices apply according to group sizes.
• Private Walks – When this type of walk is established and confirmed by a group, we reserve the right to offer places to others that would not otherwise have the minimum numbers required to participate on such a tour. If the initiating group has at least 6 participants and prefers the booking to be a private booking, we’ll request an additional private booking fee of $100 to ensure this exclusivity.
• Start Place and Time – Guests need to get to their chosen accommodation between 3-6 pm on the evening prior to the commencement of the walk on the following morning.
• Selection of dates – These walks are open to your choice of dates, however, we recommend walking in cooler months of the year, and to avoid peak holiday periods.
• Accommodation – These walks involve guests independently booking accommodation in the Minnie Water or Wooli areas. If camping, you will need to choose a camp site just north of Minnie Water, at Illaroo, Yuraygir National Park. Book your camp site online. Note that there can be limited availability and elevated costs during school or other holiday periods. Large groups may wish to book the private group camping area at Illaroo campground (contact National Parks Grafton (02) 66 411 500).
• Weekend surcharges – a surcharge of $25/person per weekend day that involves transport services to cover our weekend wage costs. We will invoice for surcharges after confirming your Standard Booking.
• Confirmation – These walks are subject to availability of various resources. When you book, confirmation will be provided after we ensure resource availability (and minimum numbers).
• Conditions – Should you find that you are unable to find suitable accommodation at the time of your booking, we cannot take responsibility for any resulting forfeiture. Please be aware that in making a booking, you will be bound by our terms and conditions regarding cancellations and changes of plan.
• EPIRB Hire – You are welcome to hire our EPIRB for an additional $10/day. You may prefer to download and use the Emergency + App.
